Deadlines don't wait for the desk to be free.
Visa and appeal windows are fixed dates, not soft targets. A missed call from someone up against one of those windows is often a missed case, not just a missed enquiry.
Request demoWhat a missed enquiry costs here
An immigration enquiry has a shelf life measured against a Home Office date, not against your diary. Someone with fourteen days left on an appeal window will not wait for a callback tomorrow, and they are not comparison-shopping in the ordinary sense. They are ringing down a list until somebody picks up. The enquiry you miss at four o'clock is usually instructed somewhere else by six.
What Cam asks first.
The capture model is the same for every firm. What changes by area is which answers are worth having before anybody rings back.
- Which route or application the enquiry concerns, in the caller's own words rather than forced into a category.
- Whether a date has already been set, and what that date is.
- Whether anything has been refused before, since a refusal changes who needs to see it and how fast.
- The best number and email, read back and confirmed before anything is saved.
What actually changes for this practice area.
Not a different AI. The same Cam, working the front door and the fee-earner's own line, applied where it matters most for this kind of work.
01
Matter category and urgency captured on first contact, not left for someone to notice later in a voicemail queue.
02
Best-email confirmation, so next steps can go out immediately even if no one answers live.
03
Human-controlled handoff, so a genuinely time-sensitive enquiry reaches a person rather than waiting in a general inbox.
04
Cover on the fee-earner's own line during a tribunal listing, so an existing client chasing a decision gets a real answer about what happens next and the update is logged against the matter.
One call, start to finish.
01
The call
A caller rings at 17:40 on a Friday. Your reception has gone home. They have a refusal letter dated eleven days ago and no idea whether that matters.
02
What Cam does
Cam answers, says plainly that he is an AI engagement coordinator, and captures the route, the date on the letter, the prior refusal, and a confirmed mobile. He does not tell them whether the deadline is live, because that is advice. He tells them a solicitor will come back to them and that he is marking it urgent.
03
What you get
The enquiry is on the desk before Monday with the date attached and flagged above the rest of the weekend's intake, and the caller has already had a text confirming somebody has it.
FAQ
Immigration questions
Can Cam tell a caller whether their appeal deadline has passed?
- No, and he is instructed not to try. Whether a window is still open is legal advice and depends on facts Cam has no way to verify on a first call. He captures the date on the document, marks the enquiry urgent, and gets it to a solicitor. What he can do is make sure that date is written down at 17:40 on Friday rather than discovered on Monday.
Do you handle calls in languages other than English?
- Not today. Cam operates in English, and that is enforced rather than left to the model. For an immigration practice this is a real limitation and we would rather state it than let you find it on a live call. Calls that need another language should be routed to a person or an interpreter service by your normal rules.
Will this write into our case management system?
- Clio and MyCase are connected. The enquiry, its category, the urgency flag and the contact details land in WasilX first and push out from there, so nothing depends on a fee-earner rekeying a Friday-evening call on Monday morning.
What WasilX doesn’t do here
WasilX doesn't give immigration advice or assess a case's merits. It captures who called, what they need, and how urgent it sounds, then gets that in front of the right person fast.
