About WasilX
Built for the call nobody answered, and the hour after it.
When researchers rang 500 law firms posing as clients, 40 per cent answered and 64 per cent were never followed up at all. Most firms lose more work at the front door than anywhere else in the business, and almost none of them can tell you how much. We built WasilX because we had spent years fixing that exact hour in other industries, and because a partner told us it was worse in his.
Clio Legal Trends Report, 2024. A secret-shopper study of 500 law firms contacted by phone and email.
From a partner who saw it
“I never imagined they would actually go away and build a solution to address it. Then came the demo, and it genuinely blew my mind.”
Adil Hussain
Partner, Global Head of Islamic Finance, and Head of Banking and Finance, Middle East. Written publicly on LinkedIn, unpaid and unsolicited.
The discipline
Who replies, how fast, and who owns what happens next.
The problem was never phone answering. It is the missing layer between the first contact, the fee-earner's attention and the client record, and it is the reason a firm can be excellent at law and still lose the work before the law starts.
Speed
Who replies, how quickly, and whether the next action is owned.
Context
The call, message, meeting and promise stay attached to the same record.
Control
The firm sees what was captured, what is waiting, and what never left without approval.
WasilX is not marketing software and not case management. It is the engagement layer between them: the place where a new enquiry becomes managed work.
Why this team
This problem needs three things at once. That is a narrow gate.
Plenty of teams can build one of these. The reason the missed enquiry is still unsolved in 2026 is that it sits exactly where the three of them overlap, and almost nobody stands in all three places.
01
Somebody who has built the first hour before
Not studied it. Built it: routing, qualification standards, ownership and reporting, in companies where the first hour was the whole business. Mohamed has done this four times.
02
Somebody who thinks in evidence
A law firm will ask who saw what, when, and on whose authority. That is an audit question before it is a software question, and Taha spent his career at Deloitte answering exactly it.
03
A firm willing to be honest with you
Neither of us practises law. So the product is built against real enquiries at real firms, with partners telling us plainly when it is wrong. The alternative is guessing in public.
Where that comes from
Mohamed Hesham
Co-founder and Chief Executive
Mohamed has built the first hour four times, in companies where it was the whole business.
He joined Salesfinity as its second employee and later ran revenue operations at Data Sentinel, reporting to the chief executive and finance chief, where he owned routing, qualification standards, reporting and the systems that decided whether an enquiry ever reached a person. Every version of that work was the same problem WasilX now solves for law firms, in an industry that had already spent twenty years solving it.
LinkedInTaha Hussain
Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer
Taha spent his career establishing what actually happened, rather than what everyone remembered.
He was a Senior Analyst at Deloitte, running audits across finance and operational teams, which is a job made entirely of evidence, ownership and traceability. Those three words are why matter access, approval gates and audit trails were in WasilX before the product had a working phone line. He owns commercial and operations here: go to market, partnerships, delivery and hiring. Accounting and Finance, Durham University.
LinkedInThe risk nobody prices
Most legal AI fails at adoption, not at accuracy.
A firm does not abandon a tool because the model was wrong. It abandons it because the workflow did not fit the day, and by Thursday everyone was back on the old way. That is the hard part of this job, and it is the part these two describe.
“One of his greatest strengths is his ability to build trust and create alignment among diverse stakeholders.”
Mark Rowan
Chief Executive Officer, Data Sentinel
Managed Mohamed directly
“He is technical where it matters. He took our HubSpot setup to the next level and wired in Gong, ZoomInfo and our dialing tools so data actually turned into insight. His real strength, though, is adoption.”
Kris Brown
Executive Global Data Solutions Leader, Data Sentinel

The name
wāsil
the one who connects
One who connects, one who reaches, one who arrives. It is not decoration. Solving real problems for real people is a principle we take seriously, faith included, and a name meaning “the one who connects” felt like the right one to build under.
It also happens to describe the product accurately, which is rare for a company name. The work WasilX does is joining things that were already in the firm and had stopped reaching each other: the call and the file, the promise and the person who made it, the enquiry and the fee-earner who should have seen it.
What we are not
Three things we would rather say now than in month four.
We do not replace Harvey or Legora
They are genuinely excellent, and once a matter exists they make the work faster and better. Every matter they execute started as a call, a form or an email somebody had to answer well and route properly first. We are the layer in front of whichever one a firm has already chosen.
We are not your system of record
Your practice management system is, deliberately. WasilX holds the engagement layer around it: what was said, what was promised, who owes what, and what has gone quiet. It does not want to be the file.
Cam does not give legal advice
It qualifies, logs, drafts and cites, and it discloses that it is an AI at the start of every call. Advice, sending, filing and matter access stay with the firm. Where it cannot answer, it says so rather than inventing something.
Come and see it on your own enquiries.
No slide deck and no rehearsed pitch. We would rather show Cam qualifying a real enquiry and covering a line than talk you through a feature list.
